IUPUI releases dean’s list
INDIANAPOLIS — IUPUI University College recently released the names of the 1,977 students who achieved academic distinction making the dean’s list for the fall 2007 semester. Students are awarded based on Highest Honors, High Honors and Honorable Mention.
Local and area students making the list are:

Morgan Mills, Logansport; Aaron Jones, Mexico; Casey Baldwin, Hannah Betzner and James Brindle, all of Peru; and Lauren Linback, Star City.

Murray, Owens award-winning students
FORT WAYNE — The IPFW College of Arts and Sciences honored its outstanding students for academic year 2007-08 at its annual banquet on April 15. Local and area students include:
Candace Murray, Logansport, recognition as a Candidate for Graduation with Distinction.
Tiffany Owens, Mexico, Psi Iota Xi-Delta Gamma IPFW Speech-Language-Hearing Scholarship.
BC scholarship program recognizes Cass County students
MISHAWAKA — The Bethel College academic scholarship program recognizes student academic achievement, leadership, community service and personal accomplishments.
The following students have received an award:
Shannon Jennings, Logansport, Logansort High School, has been awarded a Trustee Scholarship from Bethel this fall. The Trustee Scholarship is Bethel’s highest academic honor ranging from $5,000 to full tuition annually. Jennings plans to study business administration.
Jessica Layman, Walton, Lewis Cass Junior-Senior High School, and Molly Long, Logansport, Logansport High School, have been awarded a Presidential Scholarship. The Presidential Scholarship award ranges from $4,000 to $4,500 and is renewable. Layman plans to study psychology, and Long plans to study business education.

Ivy Tech honors outstanding students
KOKOMO — Ivy Tech Community College honored its outstanding students recently at its annual awards ceremony.
Betina K. Scott, Burlington, received the 2008 Vice Chancellor’s Award, which was one of two highest honors bestowed by Ivy Tech’s Kokomo Region.
Local and area students honored as outstanding students in their respective programs include:
John M. Spear, Peru, criminal justice; April M. Raderstorf, Walton, human services; Walter Nicholas, Logansport, medical assisting; Debra L. Ott, Logansport, nursing; Norma A. Saenz, Logansport, paralegal; and Cherish R. Stine, Logansport, visual communications.
Students recognized by Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges include:
Ella Louise Foust, Logansport; Trudie Harrison, Twelve Mile; Sheila Hayes, Peru; Krista M. Lawler, Logansport; Nicole Nordman, Peru; Norma A. Saenz, Logansport; Gail Stout, Peru; and Camile S. Zimpleman, Rochester.
Cass County students graduate at Indiana Wesleyan
MARION — Three students from Cass County were among 1,700 students who received degrees during graduation ceremonies April 26 at Indiana Wesleyan University’s main campus in Marion.
Graduating were Glenn Knepp, Logansport, earning a bachelor’s degree in Christian ministries; Rebecca Mittica, Twelve Mile, earning a master’s degree in applied management; and James Schrader, Logansport, earning a bachelor’s degree in management.
