Three Pioneer High School students attended the American Legion state meeting at the Marriott East in Indianapolis on April 4. These students were the state winners of the Americanism and Government Test sponsored by the American Legion. The winners included (L-R) Ty Shrontz, junior boy winner; Jazzmin Humphrey, junior girl winner; and Jacob Layer, senior boy winner. There are six state winners in the Americanism and Government Test program; one boy and one girl in each of grades 10, 11 and 12. The winners are selected by a department judging panel. Each state winner will receive a $1,000 scholarship and will be invited, along with his or her parents, to the department spring conference to be recognized as a department winner.
