THORNS & ROSES: Week of June 7

Pharos-Tribune

Getting volunteers where they need to be

The Pharos-Tribune gives this Rose to the Cass County United Way:

We’re exciting about the opportunities made available through Cass County United Way’s acquisition of Get Connected, a new website tool that will help connect nonprofits with volunteers suited to the organization’s needs.

Many times people want to volunteer and help better their community, but it’s hard to figure out where to start. Get Connected is a great starting point!

Good job, United Way!

Strawberries, downtown make a great day

The Pharos-Tribune gives this Rose to the organizers of Celebrate Logansport:

Thanks to everyone who helped put together Celebrate Logansport. What a great day to enjoy downtown Logansport! Residents came out to enjoy the weather, music and strawberry shortcake en masse Thursday.

We think the event is a great way for people to enjoy downtown, and we look forward to next year.

Hope you feelbetter soon, Med

The Pharos-Tribune give this Rose to Med Flory:

Med, this is a get well soon Rose! We’re sad you won’t be able to make it to this year’s festival. It just won’t be the same without you there.

Here’s hoping you’re able to join us next year.
