OUR VIEW: Opening doors for women

(Continued)

Today’s generation has never known a time when girls were denied the same opportunities as boys.

They’ve never been told, as Marvella Bayh was, that women need not apply. Many are unaware Title IX even exists.

And that, to the former senator’s way of thinking, is a good thing.

“Maybe that’s the way it should be,” Bayh said. “Equal rights should be a given.”

We couldn’t agree more.
