Culprit caught on camera

Police still looking for person of interest in hospital thefts

by Kevin Lilly
Pharos-Tribune staff writer

LOGANSPORT Police are still looking for the man who stole $149 from Logansport Memorial Hospital. They need the public’s help in identifying the person of interest.

A photo ran in the Pharos-Tribune shortly after the thefts occurred in late June. The tips provided investigators several names, but none turned out to be the person of interest, said Detective Brad Sommers of the Cass County Sheriff’s Department.

“We’re asking the public to take a second look,” Sommers said.

The culprit reportedly went into unlocked offices and rummaged through papers on the desks. He made out with $1 from one office and $148 from another office. Cash and a wallet also were reported missing.

The culprit has been captured by surveillance cameras.

Anyone who recognizes this individual is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at (574) 722-STOP or Detective Brad Sommers at the Cass County Sheriff’s Department at (574) 753-7807 or (574) 753-7800.

Kevin Lilly can be reached at (574) 732-5117, or via e-mail at kevin.lilly@pharostribune.com
