Community happenings: LHS discount cards, bazaar, trail closing

Offices closing for Veterans Day

Logansport city offices and municipal utilities offices will be closed Monday, in honor of Veterans Day.

Trash and recycle pickup will run as scheduled.

LHS academic teams selling discount cards

Logansport High School academic teams annual Mr. Happy Burger fundraiser is offering cards worth $40 for $5. The cards are good until May, 31, 2014, and include a large pizza, lunch buffet, country dinner, breadsticks, personal pizza, chicken sandwich, sundae and large Coke. LMH and Mary Dykeman Guild have annual bazaar

The annual Holly Bazaar, sponsored by the Mary Dykeman Guild, will be at Logansport Memorial Hospital in Medical Office Building East from 4 to 7 p.m. Nov. 14 and from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 15. Proceeds go toward patient care in the hospital.

The raffles at the bazaar, sponsored by local businesses and individuals, are on display in the hallway on the way to the main elevators. Pictures of the raffles can be found on the hospital Facebook page, and raffle tickets are $1 each, 6 tickets for $5, and 13 tickets for $10.

River Bluff trail closing for bridge work

The River Bluff Trail will be closed today through Nov. 15 for the placement of the bridge connection. When completed, citizens will be able to access the River Bluff Trail from the Eel River Trail and the connecting bridge at Riverside Park.

Cass County in need of foster parents

The Cass County office of the Indiana Department of Child Services is looking for adults with a strong desire to invest in the future as foster parents. Potential foster parents provide temporary supervision and stability for foster children during a challenging time in the children’s lives.

Three informational meetings for prospective foster parents will be offered in Logansport on Nov. 16. The 30-minute meetings will begin at 10 a.m., 10:45 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. at the Cass County DCS office, 300 N. Broadway in Logansport (on the fifth floor).
