Community happenings: Fundraiser dinners, harvest festival

Tenderloin, fish fry slated Friday

ADAMSBORO — Miami Baptist Church is hosting a tenderloin and fish fry from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church. The meal also includes baked beans, applesauce, dessert and drink.

Carry-outs will be available. Tickets are $8 for adults in advance or $9 at the door, and $4.50 for children, children five and under eat for free.

All proceeds go to the church building fund. Advance tickets may be purchased from any church member or by contacting the church at 574-753-0313. The church is located at 1368 N. 600 East, Adamsboro.

Golf outing supports schools

The third annual James A. Spencer Memorial Golf Outing is 11 a.m. Saturday with a shotgun start at Dykeman Park Golf Course. Provide your own foursome; the entry fee is $20 per person. Hole sponsorships are available for $25. Donations may be brought to the Elks Lodge; proceeds are donated to area schools.

Lake boosters to have dinner

NYONA LAKE — The Nyona S. Mud Lake Boosters are having a Pork Loin Dinner. The dinner includes dessert and beverage and will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the clubhouse, 2999 N. Knoll Drive at Nyona Lake. The proceeds will go to help finance lake projects.

Columbus Day brings fundraiser

WINAMAC — The Pulaski County Historical Society will hold a Columbus Day fundraising event, featuring the Eel River Band of Logansport, from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday at the VFW, 1066 U.S. 35, Winamac.

Admission will be $5 per person (no charge for VFW members ) and donations will also be accepted at the event. Light refreshments will be available. The evening will also feature tip boards and 50/50 drawings.

The public is welcomed to attend to help support the projects of the Pulaski County Historical Society.

Woodbridge kicks off fall with festival

Woodbridge Community Harvest Festival is from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at 602 WoodBridge Ave. Free pumpkins, decorating paint provided, free food with ice cream and cotton candy, and entertainment all day including live music, games, magician and more. Free B&K West hot dogs will also be provided.
