Community happenings: Noodle dinners, style show, Dems event

Church offering noodle dinner

Wheatland Avenue United Methodist Church is having a chicken noodle dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at the church, 440 Wheatland Ave.

The menu will include chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, coleslaw or applesauce, dinner roll, dessert and beverage.

Miami Dems slate annual dinner

PERU — Beth White, candidate for secretary of state, will be the keynote speaker for Miami County Democrats’ Jefferson-Jackson Banquet at 6 p.m. Oct. 26 at the Eagles Lodge, 54 N. Grant St., Peru.

Tickets for the event are $35 per person and can be ordered before Oct. 24 by calling 765-689-5419 or by emailing wheels135@comcast.com. Dinner will be catered by Ron Short from the Siding Restaurant. There will

be a silent auction and a money tree drawing.

Grab soup, sandwich at Poplar Grove

YOUNG AMERICA — The Poplar Grove United Methodist Church is sponsoring its annual soup and sandwich supper from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 26 at the Young America Lions Den, on Ind. 18 in Young America.

Show support for Caston cheerleaders

TWELVE MILE — Caston cheerleaders will offer an all-you-can-eat ham and bean supper with cornbread and drink for $5.

The dinner will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 27 at The Old Mill, 6512 E. Ind. 16, Twelve Mile. Dessert will be available for an additional fee. For more information, call 574-857-5505.

County road reopens after project

Indian Creek Road, just south of 400 North, has re-opened following a culvert replacement. There may be some work at the site in the coming days, but traffic can pass through.

Boutique offering style show in Flora

FLORA — Grapevine Boutique will host a style show at 2 p.m. Oct. 26 at Flora United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 103 E. Main St, Flora.

The event is sponsored by Delta Theta Chi, Indiana Gamma Chapter. Tickets are $7 each.
