---- — Finale set for summer music series
The Sundown Summer Music Series is planning a finale for the season on Sept. 1 when three acts will take the stage: Jason McKeever at 6:30 p.m., the Barnstar Sharks at 7:30 p.m. and Steve Michaels at 8:30 p.m.
The Regions Bicycle Giveaway winner will also be drawn along with other surprises. There will be a campfire and those attending are encouraged to bring their own hot dogs, marshmallows, or anything else that can be roasted in a campfire.
The audience is welcome to bring their own lawn chairs and refreshments.
Chip and seal planned for this week
Crews will be applying a chip-seal to 500 South between U.S. 35 and 1100 East on Wednesday and Thursday.
Drivers can expect delays and areas of fresh oil while the work is going on. If possible, officials are urging motorists to take an alternate route.
Wheatland Ave. set to close today
Wheatland Avenue between Vandalia Street and Vine Street will be closed starting today for about two weeks to install underground drainage pipe. Street parking will be prohibited on Wheatland Avenue between Vandalia and Vine.
Civic players selling season tickets
Season tickets for the Civic Players of Logansport 2013-2014 season are now on sale. The season includes “Here We Sit” in early October; “Stage Door” in March 2014; and a classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical in June 2014. Season tickets can be purchased for $30, with discounts for seniors and students.

Fire department plans fish fry
CLYMERS — The Clinton Township Volunteer Fire Department will host its 48th annual fish and chicken fry from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 7.
The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 8 and under. There will be a raffle drawing immediately following the dinner at the fire department at 400 South and 400 West in Clymers.
Events looks to raise money for MDA
FULTON — There will be an old-fashioned singing to raise awareness for the Muscular Dystrophy Association at 7 p.m. Sunday at Fulton Baptist Temple.
To get to the church, travel Ind. 25 to Fulton and turn west onto West Dunn Street. Donations to MDA will be accepted.
