---- — Fish fry set to help Lewis Cass bandWalton Lions Club and Lewis Cass Marching Band will host an all-you-can-eat fish fry from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7. Carry-outs and drive-thru available. The goal is to raise funds for band fees.

BMV officials set holiday hoursINDIANAPOLIS – All Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles license branches will be closed Saturday through Monday in observance of the Labor Day holiday.All license branches will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, except for the Monticello, which will reopen Wednesday.NIPSCO warns of scam circulatingSpurred by customer reports, NIPSCO is warning customers about a bill payment scam in which victims are asked to purchase a prepaid debit card to settle an overdue balance.Customers have reported receiving unsolicited phone calls from individuals falsely claiming to be NIPSCO representatives. The scammers threaten disconnection of the customer’s electric service if an immediate payment is not made. They direct the customer to purchase a prepaid debit card – many reports specifically reference a “Green Dot Debit Card” – and call back with a receipt and PIN, giving the scammers access to the card’s funds.Both residential and business customers have been targeted by the scammers. A number of reports have come from Spanish-speaking customers.Monticello to host class on tabletsMONTICELLO — The Monticello-Union Township Public Library will host an Overdrive Your Tablet class at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6.

Circulation manager Scott Miller will demonstrate how to check out, place holds, and download books from the library to your tablet. This class requires a "basic" working knowledge of your tablet. Attendees with questions can bring their tablet to the class and participate in the troubleshooting session, after the class is over.Bring your library card and tablet device. Advanced registration is required and can be made on Evanced, at the Library circulation desk or by calling 574-583-2665. The library is located at 321 W. Broadway, Monticello.Concert in the Park set in GalvestonGALVESTON — The Galveston Merchants Groups is presenting Concert in the Park at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, in Galveston Community Park.

Music line up includes Bobby Jones and Jennifer, The Kitchel Brothers, Wendy Johnson and The Rendition Band. Bring your lawn chairs.

In case of rain, the concert will be Sept. 15.
