Pioneer Days Parade information

ROYAL CENTER — The annual Pioneer Days Parade, Royal Center, will start at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 14. Entry forms may be obtained at Knebel Insurance, Royal Center.

Questions about the parade should be directed to Elaine Funk, parade organizer, at 574-643-9280.

Plant containers being sought by park

FULTON — Volunteers for the Liberty Township Park are seeking large plant containers, or half-barrels, for the park in Fulton.

They will be accepting donations of items or cash to purchase new ones. If you would like to donate, call Linda Wade 574-857-6101 or Barb Hattery 574-857-3197.

Dine for Downtown at the White House

Logan’s Landing will hold a “Dine for Downtown” fundraiser from 4 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, at the White House Restaurant, 87 S. Sixth St.

When you order breakfast or lunch for carry-out that day and turn in the event flyer, 15 percent of your food purchase price will be donated to Logan’s Landing. Flyers are available by calling Logan’s Landing at 574-722-9345.

Fish and chicken supper in Grass Creek

GRASS CREEK — Grass Creek Lions are having an all-you-can-eat fish and chicken supper from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June, 7, at the Grass Creek Fire Station, on Ind. 17.

Dessert is included with the meal, and carry-outs are available.

Grissom to honor military men, women

GRISSOM AIR RESERVE BASE — Military Appreciation Weekend will be observed with special programs May 16 through 18. There will be free admission to Grissom Air Museum for all service men and women.

Gen. Dean Despinoy, who served during Desert Storm, will speak from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. May 16, and Pvt. Rollie Douglas, a prisoner of war during World War II, will speak from 11 a.m. to noon May 17 at Grissom. At 2 p.m. May 18, “USO Show: Starring Bob Hope” will presented at Montgomery Aviation Inc. Tickets for the show are $6.

The weekend’s events are sponsored by the museum, The Grissom Community Council and Montgomery Aviation.
