Community Happenings: Cruise-in, scholarships and tournaments

Church now taking ham loaf orders

The Women of Trinity Episcopal Church are taking orders for their annual spring ham loaf sale. The loaves are freshly made and may be prepared when picked up or frozen to serve at a later date.

The price is $7.50 per box, with each containing six individual loaves with sauce. Orders may be placed now through May 5. Orders are to be picked up from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday, May 10, at the church at Seventh and Market streets. Students raise money for autism awareness

WALTON — Students in kindergarten through third grade at Thompson Elementary School, 6540 E. Ind. 218, Walton, have raised $1,900 to help individuals and families impacted by autism in observance of Autism Awareness Month. In a weekly competition between classrooms this month, classes that raised over $50 per week received a popsicle, cookie or cupcake party, and the classroom that raises the most money will receive a pizza party on April 30.

The school will donate the proceeds to a representative from Cass County’s Peak Community Services at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the school's gym.

Grief support group is currently forming

"Cup of Comfort with Chase," a grief support group, will meet at 2 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at Chase Center. Call 574-753-4137, for more information.

Tailwaggers elect officers, set fundraiser

The Cass County Tailwaggers 4-H Club met recently and held election of officers. This year's officers are president, AJ Robertson; vice-president, Traci Stark; treasurer, Gwen Arvay; secretary, Macie Moon; health and safety, Rebecca Arvay; and reporter, Myleigh Moon.

The club is currently holding its annual pork burger and pork/bacon burger fundraising. They are $25 for 20 patties. To purchase, call Terri Williamson at 574-889-2121.
