Fuller Center open house, art events, princess party, fly-in, field day

Fuller Center having open house today

Logansport Fuller Center for Housing is hosting an open house from 5 to 7 p.m. today at 717 W. Market St. The dedication and blessing will be at 6 p.m. The public is invited to see its transformed home on Logansport’s west side.

Auditions for talent show are Friday

WALTON — The town’s July Fourth Talent Show is open to all Southeastern School Corporation students. Auditions are 6 p.m. Friday at the Walton Lion’s Club; DVD or sound tracks will be accepted. Three contestants from each level will be chosen. For more information, call Carol at 765-432-0945.

Radio Club to have field day Saturday

The Cass County Amateur Radio Club will take part in the American Radio Relay League’s annual Field Day exercise beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday. The event calls for amateur radio operators to operate their equipment for a 24-hour period to simulate an emergency.

The exercise allows ham radio operators to test their skills to make as many radio contacts as possible during the event.

The local club will have a ham radio station set up so that the public can also get on the air. A licensed amateur radio operator will man the station to assist the public in making a contact during the event.

Opening reception of Opera House

Delphi — There is an opening reception for the Delphi Opera House 2 gallery is from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the gallery, 118 N. Union St., Delphi, There will be music by Barrett Myers, admission is free and refreshments will be served.

The gallery will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday starting Friday until July 31. For more information, call 765-564-4300 or visit www.delphioperahouse.org.

Dress like a princess

The Logansport Public Library is having a Sofia the First Party with the Reading Railroad and the 2014 Cass County Queen Contestants from 4 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the library.

There will be activities designed for girls ages 3 to 10 years old, and free books for everyone.

Fly in for awareness

The Logansport/Cass County Airport is having an Airport Awareness Fly-in/Drvie-in on Saturday. All airplane rides start at 10 a.m. Lunch will be served 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Price is based off the fuel, and one free meal will be served with fuel purchase.

Rain date is Sunday.

    Grissom Air Museum is having its eighth Annual Warbird Cruise-In Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show on Saturday in its 15-acre air park. Registration is from 8 a.m. to noon, doors open at 10 a.m. with lunch 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with awards at 3:30 p.m.
