CCCF to observe anniversary with $20K
The Cass County Community Foundation will offer up to $20,000 for community projects as part of its 20th anniversary "Thanks for Giving."
The foundation will accept proposals from Cass County charitable organizations that are no longer than one page in length and include: the name of the organization, a contact person, a brief description of the project and who it will impact.
The proposal also must include an estimated budget. Proposals will be accepted until 5 p.m. Friday and cannot be sent electronically. Proposals may be for less than $20,000 and it is possible multiple projects may be funded up to the total of $20,000. All organizations receiving a grant must meet eligibility and reporting requirements.
The project or projects will be selected and announced at the CCCF "Thanks or Giving" event on Nov. 22.

'Talk' to firearms deer season experts
Facebook followers of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources can “talk” online with DNR biologists and conservation officers about firearms deer season rules from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday on the DNR Facebook wall.
Lt. William Browne and wildlife information specialist Michelle Cain will answer questions about season dates, bag limits, license and equipment requirements, urban deer zones and all firearms deer season regulations. Participants are invited to join the conversation and ask questions.
Future topics, instructions on how to join a conversation on Facebook, and commenting guidelines are posted at dnr.IN.gov/7315.htm.
