Community happenings: Seniors Christmas party, blood drives

---- — Senior center hosting Christmas party

The Downtown Senior Center is hosting their annual Christmas for Seniors from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at the center, 115 S. 6th St. They will be serving a traditional Christmas dinner along with free gifts, entertainment by Brandt Carmichael and a visit from Santa Claus. This event is free to all persons 60 years of age and older who live in Cass County.

Transportation will be provided within the city limits by calling 574-753-5555 the day of the party.

Bodyworks offering intro classes

The entire month of December is free to new students at Bodyworks. Classes designed specifically for beginners meet at 5:30 p.m. Monday nights, at noon Tuesdays and Thursdays and at 11 a.m. Saturdays. For more information visit www.bodyworkslogansport.com.

Volunteer auxiliary sponsoring book fair

The Logansport Memorial Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary will sponsor a “Books for More” Book Fair from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, in Conference Room A/B at the hospital, 1101 Michigan Ave.

All proceeds will benefit the patients of Logansport Memorial Hospital. The public is welcome. For more information, call 574-753-1304.

Blood drives slated in Cass County

Two blood drives are scheduled in the Cass County area:

• 12:30 p.m. until 5 p.m. Dec. 17 at Galveston United Methodist Church in the gymnasium, located at 515 S. Maple in Galveston.

• 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. Dec. 20 at River of Life Christian Church in the Multi-Purpose Room, located at 130 Mall in Logansport.
