Community happenings: LAA shopping, Christmas arrangements show


---- — LAA shopping event set today

The Logansport Art Association is hosting a shopping open house from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the association, 424 Front St. There will be a choice of Christmas gifts and refreshments.

Christmas show at Winamac festivities

WINAMAC – The Iris-Elm Christmas Arrangements Show, a longtime Winamac tradition, will take place during Winter Wonderland events from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in downtown Winamac. The theme will be “1862 Christmas.” The Garden Club members will make holiday arrangements in keeping with a mid-19th Century Christmas.

The show will be the Historic Railroad Freight Depot on West Main Street, Winamac, which was built in 1962. There is no charge — the show is staged as a gift to the community. The show will also feature a bake sale/gift bazaar table.

R-Day set at Spencer

There will be a Logansport R-Day at Spencer Park from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.

The Cass County Solid Waste District will take the usual recyclables such as metal and tin cans, number one and two plastic bottles, newspaper and cardboard. Bottles and cans need to be rinsed.

This event is for Cass residents only, not for business or industry.

Our next scheduled regular R-Days will Dec. 14 at Pioneer Elementary in Royal Center, and Feb. 1 in Logansport.
