Catch steak dinner at VFW Saturday

The Logansport VFW is having a steak dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday. The event is open to the public.

Francesville having fall festival

FRANCESVILLE — The town's annual festival will be all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Downtown streets will be full of arts, crafts, flea markets, dinners, free family entertainment, parade (2 p.m. Saturday), music programs, fireworks (Saturday), auto show, cornhole tourney, garden tractor pull and amusement rides. 4-H to have judge-leader clinic

KOKOMO — The 37th Central District Judges, Leaders and 4-H Volunteers Clinic will be from 8:30 a.m. to noon Oct. 5 in the Witham Health Services Pavilion on the Boone County 4-H Fairgrounds, Lebanon.

Sessions will be held on a variety of topics centered on judging 4-H projects and volunteering as leaders with 4-H. New and current judges and 4-H volunteers are invited to attend. Information and a registration form can be found on the Indiana 4-H Volunteer website (www.four-h.purdue.edu/volunteer) or by contacting your local Purdue Extension Office.

Registration is due by Friday. The registration fee is $15 and includes breakfast snack and a conference packet. Questions may be directed to Kelly Scher at kscher@purdue.edu or 765-456-2313.

Autumn camping weekend slated

PERU — Mississinewa Lake will host Autumn Camping Weekend Oct. 4-6 at the Miami State Recreation Area’s modern campground program shelter and playground areas.

The cost is $3 per person over age 2. Shirts celebrating the weekend can be ordered in advance. T-shirts cost $9.50, and sweatshirts cost $17.50. Orders are due Friday.

Events will include an open-air movie and campsite decorating contest on Friday, and a pancake breakfast, s’more activities, a pet parade, trick-or-treating, and a concert by cover band 7Logic on Saturday.
