The next Cass County Democratic Central Committee meeting is 6 p.m. Monday in the Logansport Library.

Trick-or-treat at JCPenney

In celebration of Halloween, JCPenney will be hosting a "Monster Sale" this weekend. Customers can bring their kids in costume to any JCPenney store on Saturday, to enjoy trick-or-treating throughout the store and there is free hair chalking and a "spooky" Minx nail application in all JCPenney salons, no appointment necessary.

Mix it up with country music jam

GALVESTON — The Galveston American Legion will have an old fashioned Halloween Jam Session on Wednesday. There will be a covered dish dinner beginning at 6 p.m. with the country music jam session beginning at approximately 7 p.m.

The event is for adults only. People are asked to bring a covered dish. They can dress in Halloween costumes if they wish, but it is not necessary. The festivities are free. The jam session includes musicians and singers from several area bands. If you have any questions, contact the American Legion at 574-699-6133.

Chow down at Lucerne fish fry

LUCERNE — Lucerne Lions all-you-can-eat Fish Fry is from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 2, at Lucerne Lions Hall, 104 W. Hill St., Lucerne. The menu will include fish, french fries, slaw, bread, butter, beverage, and pie is extra. Tickets are $8.50 for adults, ages 6 to 12 for $4.50 and under 6 eat for free. Proceeds go to local projects, charities, and state projects.

Ham, beans, chili on the menu

TWELVE MILE — Twelve Mile Fire Department is hosting a ham and bean and chili supper from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. or until food is gone, Nov. 2. Donations accepted and dessert is included.

'Stage Door' auditions coming up

Auditions for the comedy "Stage Door" will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday Nov. 8 and 15, from 10 a.m. to noon and 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday Nov. 9 and 16, and from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday Nov. 10 and 17. All auditions will take place at the Civic Players building at 1115 Erie Ave. in Logansport.

Available parts include: 11 men age 16 and over, including one man in his 30’s and one man in his 50’s; and 21 women age 16 and over, including one woman in her 50’s and 16 young women. There are small parts and large parts — this would be a great show to “get your feet wet” as an actor or actress. Help is also needed backstage with costuming and set construction.

Show dates are March 7, 8 and 9, 2014, at McHale Performing Arts Center. For more information, call the director, Nancy Quigney, at 574-516-1158.

Coats distribution slated at Salvation Army

The Salvation Army and Church Women United is having Coats 4 Kids from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 9, or until coats are gone. The child must be present to receive a coat. The coats are for children ages newborn to 13. There will also be hats, scarfs and mittens. It will be located at 615 Heath St.

Veterans Day bringing Caston breakfast, ceremony

FULTON — In honor of area veterans, Caston Jr.-Sr. High School will be hosting veterans for breakfast at 8:30 a.m. and a short ceremony at 9 a.m. Nov. 11. They would like for any interested veterans, and any guests they would like to bring, to RSVP and provide their branch to Mrs. Sailors in the high school office, 574-857-3505 ext. 315.

Blood drive to take place at Pioneer

ROYAL CENTER — Pioneer High School is hosting a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 13 in the gymnasium, located at 417 S. Chicago St., Royal Center.
