Community happenings: Dems meeting, country jam, auditions

Cass Dems meeting Monday

The next Cass County Democratic Central Committee meeting is 6 p.m. Monday in the Logansport Library.

Trick-or-treat at JCPenney

In celebration of Halloween, JCPenney will be hosting a "Monster Sale" this weekend. Customers can bring their kids in costume to any JCPenney store on Saturday, to enjoy trick-or-treating throughout the store and there is free hair chalking and a "spooky" Minx nail application in all JCPenney salons, no appointment necessary.

Mix it up with country music jam

GALVESTON — The Galveston American Legion will have an old fashioned Halloween Jam Session on Wednesday. There will be a covered dish dinner beginning at 6 p.m. with the country music jam session beginning at approximately 7 p.m.

The event is for adults only. People are asked to bring a covered dish. They can dress in Halloween costumes if they wish, but it is not necessary. The festivities are free. The jam session includes musicians and singers from several area bands. If you have any questions, contact the American Legion at 574-699-6133.

Chow down at Lucerne fish fry

LUCERNE — Lucerne Lions all-you-can-eat Fish Fry is from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 2, at Lucerne Lions Hall, 104 W. Hill St., Lucerne. The menu will include fish, french fries, slaw, bread, butter, beverage, and pie is extra. Tickets are $8.50 for adults, ages 6 to 12 for $4.50 and under 6 eat for free. Proceeds go to local projects, charities, and state projects.

Ham, beans, chili on the menu

TWELVE MILE — Twelve Mile Fire Department is hosting a ham and bean and chili supper from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. or until food is gone, Nov. 2. Donations accepted and dessert is included.

'Stage Door' auditions coming up

Auditions for the comedy "Stage Door" will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday Nov. 8 and 15, from 10 a.m. to noon and 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday Nov. 9 and 16, and from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday Nov. 10 and 17. All auditions will take place at the Civic Players building at 1115 Erie Ave. in Logansport.
