Community happenings: Setting a world record, Galveston craft show

---- — Read for the Record attempt on Thursday

The Logansport Cass County Public Library will be celebrating Read for the Record on Thursday. Children’s librarians will be joining with the Jumpstart organization in an attemp to break a world’s record by reading “Otis” by Loren Long with more than 3 million children from around the world.

From 4 to 6 p.m., there will be a World’s Record Breaking Celebration, with activities in the book’s theme.

Baked spaghetti supper to help church

River of Life Christian Church, 130 Mall Road, will host a baked spaghetti supper from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday. Donations are accepted, with proceeds benefiting church building fund and 10 percent to local outreach.

Holiday craft show coming to Galveston

GALVESTON — Galveston United Methodist Church is having a holiday harvest and craft show from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. There will be handcrafted items, jewelry, candles, purses, primitive items, wood crafts and food. The church is located at 15 S. Maple St., Galveston.
