---- — Special Olympics looks for swimmers

Cass County Special Olympics has announced that the aquatics program will hold a call-out from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Cass County Family YMCA swimming pool. Participants should be prepared to swim by wearing swimsuits, bringing a towel and a change of clothes.

The aquatics program is being coached by Janet Fawley. Team Captains Jessica Crook and Sam Fawley will also lead the aquatics team throughout the season.

The swim season begins March 29, and practices will be 9:30 to 11 a.m. every Saturday through June 1. Practices will work on improving swimming skills as well as competitive swimming techniques. Two competitions are traditionally held — the first in May at Valparaiso High School and the State Games in Terre Haute June 6 through 8. Participants will be required to commit to attend the State Games at the signup meeting at 6 p.m. April 2 at the Peak Community Services Building.
