Community happenings: Choirs, historical society, cemetery cleanup

Two children’s choirs to perform Saturday

The Logansport Children’s Choir will host the Anderson Area Children’s Choir as the two choirs present a joint concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the First United Methodist Church. The choirs will each sing several selections and will end the concert in singing a combined number.

Historical society to host annual meeting

WINAMAC — The Pulaski County Historical Society will hold its annual membership meeting with doors opening at 6 p.m. and the meeting beginning at 6:30 p.m. March 20 at the Vurpillat Opera House, Main and Market streets, Winamac.

The program will be “Barns, Bridges & Block Houses,” given by Janet Onken. The public is welcome to join the PCHS membership for the dessert and coffee bar program. A brief business meeting and election of officers will precede Onken’s presentation, which will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Cemetery schedules spring cleanup

GALVESTON — The Galveston Cemetery is asking that any wanted decorations be removed by March 31.Cleanup will begin April 1, weather permitting.

Carnival, fish/chicken fry slated for Pioneer

ROYAL CENTER — Pioneer Elementary School Student Council will hold a Carnival and an all-you-can-eat Fish/Chicken Fry from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. April 11.

Tickets will be $8.50 for adults and $5.50 for children ages 5 to 12. The menu will include fish or chicken, coleslaw, potato chips, applesauce, dessert and beverage. Carry-outs available.

The Carnival will be from 5 to 8 p.m. with pre-sale at five tickets for a $1, or four for $1 the day of. Most booths will take only two or three tickets. The Parent Teacher Organization will be having a basket raffle during the Carnival; pre-sale tickets will be six for $5 or $1 on the day of. All tickets will be available at the elementary.

Euchre to beplayed at Legion

DELPHI — American Legion Post 75, 211 S. Washington St., Delphi, is hosting a Euchre Party at 6 p.m. March 22. The cost is $10 per person and includes food and cards. Singles and couples are welcomed.
