---- — Chili, vegetable soup on menu for supper

ROCKFIELD — The Annual Chili and Vegetable Soup Supper will be from 4:30 to 7 p.m. March 29 at the Rockfield Community Building, 2830 W 640 North in Rockfield. There will also be ham sandwiches, hot dogs, coney dogs, pie, cake, lemonade and ice tea. Donations accepted, proceeds to go to town improvements.

Appliance recycling provides incentive

Duke Energy customers who recycle outdated refrigerators or freezers will now receive a $50 incentive through the Duke Energy appliance recycling program. The program encourages customers to have inefficient refrigerators and freezers picked up at their home free of charge.

Call Duke Energy at 855-398-6200, or visiting duke-energy.com/recycle to schedule a time for a free home pickup. Refrigerators and freezers must be in working condition and must be between 10 and 30 cubic feet in size. A check for $50 arrives within four to six weeks. A maximum of two units per household per calendar year will be accepted.

Annual chicken noodle dinner slated

Wheatland Ave. United Methodist Church is having its annual Spring chicken noodle dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. March 22. The menu will include chicken noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, coleslaw, applesauce, rolls, desserts and beverage. Carry-outs will be available and donations accepted. The church is located at 440 Wheatland Ave.

Thompson Elem Kindergarten Round-up coming

WALTON — Kindergarten Round-up for Southeastern School Corp. will be 8:20 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. April 10 at Thompson Elementary. Bring a birth certificate, immunization record and your child. Child must be 5 years old by Aug. 1 for kindergarten. Plan to allow 30 minutes for round-up. Students can enroll in school but may not attend until they have required vaccinations.
