Community happenings: Exchange student presentation, LHS nominations, FFA past officers

---- — LHS seeking distinguished grads

Logansport High School is currently taking nominations for the annual Hall of Distinction. This honor is reserved for LHS graduates who have distinguished themselves through outstanding accomplishment on a local, state, or national level of prominence. Graduates are not eligible until more than five years has elapsed from graduation.

The recipient will be asked to be the guest speaker and address the Class of 2014 at the LHS Commencement Ceremony at 2 p.m. June 8. All nominations are due by March 14.

Sen. Coats’s office to have mobile hours

WINAMAC — A member of U.S. Sen. Dan Coats’s staff will visit Pulaski County from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Pulaski County Public Library, 121 S. Riverside Drive, Winamac, to meet with local residents and assist Hoosiers experiencing problems with a federal agency.

Lions Club hosting exchange students

FULTON — The Fulton-Liberty Lions Club will host its annual Foreign Exchange Students Community Presentation at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. The event will take place at the Fulton Town Hall on Ind. 25.

Five students will be sharing about their country, its educational system, government, economy, and places of interest. A question-and-answer session will follow.

Lewis Cass FFA hunting past officers

WALTON — The Lewis Cass FFA chapter would like to invite all the past FFA officers for its 50th banquet on April 5. If you know a past officer or an entire officer team at one point, you can contact the Lewis Cass Ag Department at 574-626-2511 ext. 5124 so they can have plenty of time to send out invitations.
