Purple Heart group planning buffet

GRISSOM AIR RESERVE BASE — The Military Order of the Purple Heart is planning a free fried chicken buffet at noon Saturday at Grissom Air Museum. The county service officer will outline burial benefits.

Congressman coming Monday to Heritage Park

Rep. Todd Rokita will be hosting a Congress on Your Corner from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Monday, at Heritage Park, 401 Market St.

This is Cass County Hoosiers’ chance to interact personally with Rep. Rokita and share their thoughts on the issues of the day – Obamacare, the economy, jobs, the debt, immigration and so forth.

CCCF to have Town Hall in Galveston

GALVESTON — In celebration of its 20th anniversary, the Cass County Community Foundation is hosting a Town Hall meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Galveston Community Building, 101 S. Park Road, Galveston.

The meeting will provide time for local citizens to hear from the Foundation about its work in the Galveston area and offer an opportunity for the Galveston community to share ideas of projects and future needs. The meeting is free and open to the public.

For each person that attends the Town Hall meeting, $20 will be granted by CCCF to go towards a project to benefit the Galveston Community up to a total of $2,000.

All citizens in the area are encouraged to attend and discuss ideas on ways to improve the community. For more information about the meeting or the Cass County Community Foundation, call 574-722-2200.

Dance lesson hosted at senior center

KOKOMO — The Ballroom Dance Club of Kokomo will host a free dance lesson at 7 p.m.Aug. 23 in the Kokomo Senior Center, 721 W. Superior St., Kokomo. An eight-weeksession of group lessons will begin Sept. 5. Open to all ages.
