Dobbs named new partner
Starr Austen & Miller LLP named Polly Dobbs as a new partner. She will be specializing in estate and wealth transfer planning and business and farm succession planning.
Dobbs holds a bachelor’s degree from Ball State University, a masters degree in business administration from the Kelley School of Business, and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. She is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, the Miami County Bar Association, and the Cass County Bar Association.
Dobbs grew up on a farm and has extensive experience in farm and business succession planning. Her expertise includes wealth preservation, probate and trust administration, federal and state tax advice, business organization and general business and corporate transactions.
In 2012, Dobbs was nominated by her peers and selected by a committee of local business leaders as a representative member of Indy’s Best and Brightest professionals. This group honors 100 of Central Indiana’s outstanding young professionals, age 40 and under, who are making their mark in and around Indianapolis.
She also serves as a member of the Corporation Board of Directors of the Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites and the Planned Giving Subcommittee of Alpha Chi Omega Foundation, as well as the Northern Indiana Community Foundation and the Miami County Museum.

State troopers recognized at ceremony
Ten Indiana State Police officers were recognized in Indianapolis by Superintendent Douglas Carter for their resolute dedication and appointment to the department's Underwater Search Rescue/Recovery Team.
Tpr. Caleb Clark, Peru, was among the 10 recognized.
The scuba team members had recently completed their six month probationary period as divers and received their uniform pins from Superintendent Carter, designating them as USRT members.
