---- — Open house slatedfor new optometrist

ROCHESTER — Drs. Herb Price and Kathy Shepler of Drs. Price and Shepler Family Eye Care will have a meet-and-greet open house for Dr. Karisa Donaldson, the practice’s newest partner physician.

The open house will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Rochester office of Family Eye Care, 1327 Main St.

Donaldson grew up in Miami County and earned an undergraduate degree from Huntington University before graduating with honors from Indiana University School of Optometry this year.

Tyson Foods completes record year

SPRINGDALE, Ark. — Tyson Foods Inc. reported a record year as fourth-quarter earnings increased 23 percent to 70 cents per share.

The company saw record sales of $8.9 billion, an increase of 7 percent over last year, according to a release from the company, which employs about 900 at its Logansport pork processing plant.

Operating income increased 18 percent to $416 million and the company repurchased 9.9 million shares for $300 million. The board declared a 50 percent increase on quarterly dividends from 5 cents to 7.5 cents on shares of class A common stock.

Salin names new VP, development leader

INDIANAPOLIS — Family owned and Indiana-based Salin Bank named Frank Whelan its new vice president and business development team leader.

Whelan brings two decades of experience in the financial services and investment field to his new position. Most recently, Whelan served as vice president of a Canadian financial institution, Bank of Montreal — BMO Harris Bank.

Whelan is a graduate of Hobart College, with a bachelor’s degree in political science. An active member in his local community, Whelan serves as president of the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir’s Board of Directors and is a past member of the Carmel Arts Council Board.

Dukes adds surgeonto Logansport office

PERU — Board-certified orthopedic surgeon Dr. Gregory A. Konrath is now accepting new patients at Dukes Orthopedics in Logansport.

Dr. Konrath has been a member of Dukes Medical Group serving orthopedic patients in Peru and the surrounding area since February of this year. Before coming to Peru, Dr. Konrath had spent the past 13 years providing orthopedic care to individuals throughout the state of Indiana.

Konrath received his medical degree and training from Rush Medical College in Chicago. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Mich., and his fellowship in orthopedic traumatology at the University of California-Davis in Sacramento, Calif.
