Breakfast before hours slated

DELPHI — Garden Gate Tea House is hosting a Carroll County Chamber of Commerce “Breakfast Before Hours” at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday just before the ribbon cutting at 8:30 a.m. at its new location, 101 W. Franklin St. in Delphi.

UFCW Local 700 joins AFL-CIO

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana State AFL-CIO recently welcomed the Indiana chapter of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union (UFCW) Local 700 as its newest affiliate.

UFCW Local 700 represents about 14,000 Hoosier workers in the retail food, meat packing, food processing, and manufacturing industries from around the state, including those working at the Tyson pork processing plant in Logansport.

The Indiana State AFL-CIO (American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations) is a statewide federation of 800 different local unions from across Indiana that represents more than 300,000 working Hoosiers. Its mission is to help workers join and form unions, support workers as they bargain with employers to improve their living conditions and workplaces and represent Indiana working families at all levels of government through political, legislative and public policy advocacy.
