Hudson named GM of three printers

PERU — Jim Hudson of Anderson has been named general manager of three Indiana printing businesses who operate under ReproComm Inc., including Modern Graphics in Peru.

The businesses are Lafayette Printing Co., 511 Ferry St. in Lafayette; Modern Graphics Inc., 179 N. Miami St. in Peru; and Hudson Printing, 1201 E. Fifth St., Suite 1018 in Anderson.

Hudson will oversee all customer service, prepress and production at the three sites.

Born and raised in Anderson, Hudson earned a bachelor's degree in industrial management from Purdue University. He has 40 years' experience in the industry, most at Hudson Printing, where he learned the business from his father and grandfather, then became the owner and operator.

The three printing businesses, which continue operating under their longtime names, combined operations under the ReproComm name in 2011.

Modern Graphics' roots go back to 1966 when Kinary Press opened as a commercial offset job shop. Its growth includes launching a weekly advertiser in 1969; and renaming the business Modern Graphics Inc. in 1974. The company serves several North Central Indiana counties, providing a full range of printing and labeling services, including pre-press, press, finishing and graphic design.
