ROCHESTER — Ivy Tech, in partnership with the Fulton Economic Development Corporation, will present a free lunch-and-learn, “Building Trust and Dealing with Emotions at Work," from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 29 at the Rochester Learning Center, Rochester.
This event will offer a look at the leadership and supervision training options available through Ivy Tech’s Corporate College and a chance to meet the trainers. Reservations should be made by Oct. 25 by calling 800-459-0561, ext. 233.
The lunch-and-learn will preview two upcoming workshops at the Rochester Learning Center geared to improve leadership and supervision skills. The course, "Building Trust under Pressure: The Basic Principles," outlines a universal set of leadership guidelines that help transform individuals into genuine leaders.
Armed with a firm understanding of the “whats” and “whys” of “The Basic Principles,” participants examine how they can apply the principles in a way that enable them to be more efficient, effective and productive in their jobs.
The two upcoming workshops that the lunch-and-learn are previewing for are:
• Working Through Emotions and Conflict, Module 1: Addressing Emotions at Work, from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesdays starting Nov. 12 at the Rochester Learning Center.
Discover skills for managing emotions in the workplace, helping to prevent runaway emotions, and remain productive and focused toward organizational goals.
• Module 2: Resolving Conflicts with Your Peers from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays starting Dec. 5 at the Rochester Learning Center.
Examine a model for the effective management of conflict that will result in increased collaboration, innovation, problem solving, and productivity in the workplace.
These courses are designed with minimal reading and lecture and with a balance of activities and discussions. Strong emphasis is placed on skill practice and application.
