Board governance subject of workshop
The next HYPE (Helping You Pursue Excellence) workshop will cover effective board governance.
The workshop for current or prospective nonprofit board members will take place at two times on Tuesday — 10 a.m. to noon or 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. — at the City of Logansport Economic Development Corp. office at 315 S. Fifth St.
Jillian Henry, Regional Director for the Indiana Nonprofit Resource Network, will facilitate the program.

Carroll Chamber to discuss QuickBooks

Durr recipient of Ivy Tech's Lamkin award
KOKOMO — Michael Durr was recently named recipient of Ivy Tech Community College's 2013-14 Gerald I. Lamkin Award for Excellence in Instruction.
Durr, an instructor in the paramedic science program at Ivy Tech’s Kokomo Campus who lives in Burlington, received the award honoring Ivy Tech’s top adjunct faculty instructor at the College’s annual statewide adjunct faculty conference in Indianapolis.
He has been an instructor in Ivy Tech's paramedic science program since 2003.
McFarland named program chair at Ivy Tech
KOKOMO — Veteran instructor Barbara McFarland has been named chair of the Office Administration program at Ivy Tech Community College Kokomo Region.
McFarland joined Ivy Tech as an adjunct instructor and program adviser in Office Administration and since 2004 has served as a full-time assistant professor and program adviser at the College’s Logansport campus.
She has been honored as Cass County Favorite College Professor as well as Outstanding Adjunct and twice as Instructor of the Year at Ivy Tech Logansport.
