Ivy Tech communication training slated
WINAMAC — Ivy Tech Corporate College will present an eight-hour workshop titled “Communication Skills for Supervisors” from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 7 in the Pulaski County Development building, 623 W. Eleventh St. in Winamac.
The instructor-led, highly interactive course will focus on the skills and tools needed to help front-line and middle-level managers and supervisors understand themselves and become more productive in the workplace by coaching, mentoring and motivating employees.
The cost of the program, $200 per participant, covers reference materials and handouts.

Program to equipfarm women
DEER CREEK — The 2014 Session of Annie’s Project is a program developed to empower farm women to be better business partners is scheduled starting Thursday and continuing each Thursday through April 3. The series is hosted by Carroll, Cass, and Howard County Extension offices.
The purpose of the program is to help agricultural women gain the understanding and knowledge necessary to be active and involved farm partners. In addition, Annie’s Project will help women find new ways to balance demands of family, community and professionalism within the agricultural community. Sessions will combine lecture, discussion, individual and small group activities and computer training.
The classes run from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The first class will be at the Deer Creek Community Center, 4583 N Ind. 29 near Camden. Class sites will rotate between Flora, Kokomo and Logansport.
