Logansport Financial Corp. declares earnings
Logansport Financial Corp., the holding company for Logansport Savings Bank, declared a quarterly cash dividend of $.16 on each share of its common stock for the first quarter of 2014.
The dividend is payable on April 15 to the holders of record on March 14.
The corporation also reported net earnings for the three and twelve months ending Dec. 31, 2013.
Net earnings for the three months ending with Dec. 31 last year totaled $412,000, compared to the $446,000 in net earnings reported for the three months ending Dec. 31, 2012.
Net earnings for the year ending Dec. 31, 2013 totaled $1,686,000, compared to the $1,627,000 reported for the year ended Dec. 31, 2012.
Smith earns funeral director license
Kevin Smith recently became a licensed funeral director in the State of Indiana. He successfully passed his national and state board examination.
A 2007 graduate of Logansport High School, Smith earned a bachelor’s degree in business with a concentration in small business marketing and management from the University of Saint Francis, and attended Mid America College of Funeral Service, completing a bachelor’s degree in mortuary science.
Smith served his internship with Gundrum Funeral Home and Crematory in Logansport. He is a certified crematory operator at Cass County Crematory and manager for Gundrum Pet Cremation Care.
Steinberger receives governor’s award
INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana Department of Labor Commissioner Rick Ruble presented one of the Governor’s Workplace Safety Awards to Steinberger Construction Inc. for its contributions to the safety, health and prosperity of Hoosiers in the workplace.
Steinberger Construction was recognized for its internal education and outreach in construction for a small-sized company.
“These companies represent the best of the best,” Ruble said. “They demonstrate a commitment not only to protecting their employees, but also to ensuring employees understand the importance of workplace safety and health. The department is proud to honor these innovative companies.”
