Radio Shack moves into mall

Furniture store, skating rink open on East Market.

With the celebration of its grand opening on Thursday, Radio Shack has returned to the Logansport Mall.

Roger Olinger, manager of the new store, said the store is under different management from the previous store, which was located in the same 2,500 square feet of space.

The previous store, which closed in August 2006, was corporately owned while the new store is franchise owned, Olinger explained.

Olinger said the other franchise store is in Rochester. It opened as part of a pharmacy and eventually grew into its own 4,000 square-foot store. The success of the Rochester location led to the opening of the second store in Logansport.

“We are excited to bring new business back to Logansport,” said Olinger.

The store has been set up differently to offer a new look for customers and offer a variety of brands other than Radio Shack products.

Radio Shack is open from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. from Monday through Friday and from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday.

The store can be reached at (574) 722-5075.

Skating rink, furniture store open

Dylan’s Furniture and Logansport Skate World and Fun Center opened the doors for business during the last week of June.

Located at 2625 E. Market St., hours have fluctuated since the opening of both businesses. A sign on the building has indicated what time the skating rink is open from day to day.

No phone number was listed for either business.

New tenant for former Fazoli’s

The building on East Market Street that former held Fazoli’s restaurant may soon have a new tenant.

During the June meeting of the Logansport-Cass County Economic Development Foundation board, Larry Isaacs said he and LEDF president Skip Kuker have been working with a client interested in purchasing the property. Isaacs said he believes they are “very close” to reaching an agreement.

Kuker acknowledged that Isaacs, who is the realtor for the building, has done most of the work on the deal.

The building has been vacant since Fazoli’s closed in December 2003.
