Little Caesars Pizza hopes for May debut

by Denise Massie
Pharos-Tribune staff writer

SCM Foods Inc. owner Scott Marvel said Little Caesars Pizza will be opening mid-May in a 1,700 square-foot building in Eastgate Plaza at 3025 E. Market St.

Convenient parking and better traffic flow in the area made the location seem perfect to Marvel.

“We’re kind of transforming the place right now,” he said. “We’re gutting the existing place and completely rebuilding it.”

The restaurant will offer carryout pizza only. Customers will be able to order a gourmet pizza or choose something from the restaurant’s “Hot and Ready” section. That area will include a variety of items ready to pick up without having to order, Marvel said. There will also be a daily special, he added.

Before moving back to Indiana, the Wanatah resident lived in Georgia and was a franchise owner of four Little Caesars Pizza locations from 1987 through 1991. He started working with the company in 1982.

Marvel decided it was a great time to get back into the business.

“It’s an exciting time because of the great value and the growth potential,” he said.

Marvel had been looking for a location within driving distance of Wanatah. After visiting the area over the past nine months, he thought Logansport was a good community to open the business.

Marvel hopes to hire between 20 and 25 employees and will be looking for managers as well.

Marvel expects Little Caesars to be open 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
