A third mega-dairy farm is looking to move into Carroll County.
The Pasman’s Pleasant Dairy is planned for northern Tippecanoe Township near 700N and 975W. It will be owned and operated by Dutch farmers Erik and Heidi Pasman.
Daryl Smith, Carroll County Economic Development Corporation director, said construction on the facility could begin in about a year.
The new dairy operation represents a $15 million investment in Carroll County, said Smith. It will also bring anywhere from 20 to 25 new jobs at a variety of levels, with an approximate salary of $30,000 to $35,000.
The 2,500-head operation will include a centralized milking area and a large barn, said Smith. The owners will use a three-lagoon system for on-site waste treatment.
The entire operation will be housed on 259 acres of land, said Smith.
Dutch-based Vreba Hoff Dairy Development LLC is in charge of development.
Local car lot changes hands
Drive Now Auto Credit, 410 S. Third St., is under new ownership.
Co-owners Mike Anderson and Bill Thompson purchased the car lot, which used to be Hendrickson Auto Credit, several months ago from John Hendrickson. The business held its grand opening on March 14 and 15.
Sales Associate Jim McNulty said the business is a “but here, pay here” lot.
