Mother, sister found stabbed in Monticello

20-year-old David Scott Rodenbarger arrested in double murder case.


MONTICELLO — State police and White County law enforcement arrested a man Saturday after finding his mother and 7-year-old sister stabbed at a Monticello home.

At about 1:23 a.m. Saturday, Indiana State Police, Monticello Police and the White County Sheriff's Department responded to a 911 call about possible stabbings at 5642 E. Richey Park, Monticello.

Police allege that David Scott Rodenbarger, 20, stabbed his mother, Michelle Haskins, 41, and his half-sister, Jillian Haskins, 7, all whom resided at the above address, for unknown reasons. Michelle was able to make the 911 call before succumbing to her injuries. Jillian was taken to White County Memorial Hospital in Monticello where she was pronounced dead from her injuries.

Rodenbarger was taken to the White County Jail in Monticello where he was charged with murder. Further charges maybe pending.

Family members of the deceased have been notified.
