State rep. candidate Worthington faces dealing in cocaine, marijuana charges

LOGANSPORT — Kerry Worthington, a candidate for state representative, former Logansport city councilman and Logansport business owner, was arrested today on charges of dealing in cocaine, possession of marijuana and reckless possession of drug paraphernalia.

Worthington, 52, a Democrat, was arrested across the street from the Cass County Sheriff's Office at his bar, Worly's Inn, at 3:15 p.m. Deputies from the sheriff's department and members of the Cass County Drug Task Force were involved in the investigation,which is ongoing.

He is alleged to have sold a confidential informant cocaine, according to a press release issued by the sheriff's department. Worthington is being held at the Cass County Jail on $5,000 cash or $25,000 surety.
