A 50-year-old woman, who formerly worked at a business in Macy, was arrested on 10 class D felony counts after police say she wrote business checks for personal purchases.
Deborah O’Connor was arrested after an Indiana State Police Investigation found she had falsely documented about $70,000 of personal expenses as business expenses. O’Connor worked as the office manager for R and W Concrete from 2004 to 2011, according to police.
O’Connor is accused of writing the checks between January 2008 and December 2009.
An Internal Revenue Service audit and an internal audit by the accountant of the business led to the investigation.
The release states that O’Connor was allowed to write checks and use the corporate credit card, but only for business expenses.
O’Connor formerly lived in rural Rochester but relocated to Paulding, Ohio.
She was incarcerated in the Miami County Jail.
