Jury reaches verdict in Duncan case

---- — A jury reached a verdict this evening in the case against Christopher Duncan, 46, Logansport.

Duncan was found not guilty of attempted murder and attempted aggravated battery. After a seven-day jury trial and several hours of jury deliberation today, the verdict was announced around 4:30 p.m.

Duncan was facing the charges after he shot at and nearly hit a police officer during a foot pursuit in 2011. Duncan was found guilty of identity deception, pointing a firearm, criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, identity deception, possession of marijuana and resisting law enforcement.

A sentencing hearing will be 1 p.m. Dec. 5.
