FULTON — Students at Caston School Corp. will experience a longer school day beginning Monday.
After a long discussion of pros and cons, school board members approved extending the day by 50 minutes as a way to make up most of the lost instructional time prior to ISTEP+ testing.
Twenty-five minutes will be added to both the beginning and the end of the day.
Cindy Douglass, superintendent at the district, said this was the best option available to make up missed instructional time before ISTEP testing.
The new schedule will begin Monday and continue until April 22.
Information will be available for students and parents on www.caston.k12.in.us.
The decision was approved on a 5-0 vote.
