---- — Two Logansport residents were arrested Wednesday evening on multiple charges after police say they found an active methamphetamine lab in the basement of their home.
At around 8:15 p.m., officers with the Logansport Police Department Methamphetamine Suppression Unit followed up on a complaint regarding a residence in the 100 block East Linden Avenue.
While at this residence, officers found a meth lab in the basement and several items used to manufacture meth in the garage, according to a press release from LPD.
Leston G. Vaught, 29, Logansport, was arrested on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine, a Class B felony; possession of precursors, a Class D felony; maintaining a common nuisance, a Class D felony; possession of meth, a Class D felony; and neglect of a dependent, a Class D felony.
Jessie M. Vaught, 30, Logansport, was arrested on charges of conspiracy to manufacture meth, a Class B felony; possession of precursors, a Class D felony; maintaining a common nuisance, a Class D felony; possession of meth, a Class D felony; and neglect of a dependent, a Class D felony.
LPD's Meth Suppression Unit was assisted by Logansport/Cass County Drug Task Force, Logansport Police Department Patrol Division, the Indiana State Police Clandestine Laboratory Team and the Indiana Department of Child Services.
