"Once we got it out and the people got educated on it, it seemed to be working," Coleman said.
Coleman added so many drivers are cooperating that he expects the streets to be completely cleared and the new rules to be lifted soon.
Officers tag vehicles of owners who do not comply, giving them 12 hours to move them, Coleman said.
"For the majority of it, once the officers tag them, they'll find a way to move them," Coleman said. "As long as we get the word out through the newspaper and the radio station and just get the people educated on what we're trying to accomplish here and get the cooperation of the people — it seems to work out a lot better."
