Eugene “Gene” and Judy Vaughn

Eugene “Gene” and Judy Vaughn, Logansport, will celebrate their golden anniversary from noon to 4 p.m. today at their home, 722 S. Granite Drive in Logansport. A family dinner is planned followed by cake and ice cream hosted by their children.

Gene Vaughn and the former Judy Moyer were married at 2 p.m. Oct. 18, 1959, in United Methodist Church in Ashkum, Ill. The couple was married on Judy’s brother’s birthday who was in the U.S. Navy stationed in Japan at the time.

Gene and Judy are enjoying their retirement with their family and friends since relocating from Crescent City, Ill., after his retirement.

Judy worked as a nurse’s aide for 20 years in the Kankakee, Ill. area, and Gene retired after working in supervision for 25 years from the former Armour Pharm. Plant in Bradley, Ill.

Their children are Randy Vaughn and wife, Coleen, Teri Farris and husband, John, and Tammy Wilburn and husband, Brian, all of Logansport. They also have nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
