Alice and Gilbert Rothermel

— Gilbert and Alice Rothermel, Lucerne, will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary with an open house from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 8 in the American Legion in Logansport hosted by their children. A trip to Alaska is planned for later.
They were married Feb. 1, 1958, in Harlan, at the Salem Lutheran Church. Parents of the couple are Charles and Mabel Rothermel and Doy and Daisy Gorrell, all deceased.
Gilbert, a 1951 Logansport graduate is retired from the Logansport Post Office and semi-retired from farming. Alice is a 1954 graduate of Harlan High School and a 1957 graduate of Parkview Methodist School of Nursing, Fort Wayne. She is semi-retired from Memorial Hospital with 50 years of service.
They are the parents of four children, Carolyn Rothermel and husband, David McCallister, Fort Wayne, Judy Davis and husband, Duane, Asheville, N.C., Mark Rothermel, Muncie, and Melissa Rothermel and husband, Brian Alletto, Wheaton, Ill. They also have two grandchildren, Nathalie Bennett and husband, Joseph, Charleston, S.C., and Kathryn Davis, Asheville, N.C.
