Rose exhibits Grand Champion at national show

Logansport resident Amanda Rose exhibited the Grand Champion Bred and Owned Bull, Four Roses Destination 15T 2CA, on July 3 and 4 at the 2008 American Junior Chianina Association National Junior Heifer Show in Kansas City, Mo.

Rose’s bull, born April 3, 2007, is the son of RDD New Direction 123N 1CA and was also the Class 3 winner. Scott Schaake of Manhattan, Kan., judged the show.

The 2008 show, themed “A Star Spangled Extravaganza” kicked off on June 29 and finished on July 4. The AJCA show was held in conjunction with the American Junior Maine-Anjou Association National Junior Show and the American Junior Shorthorn Association Junior Show for the first ever joint junior national event.

The shows were held at the American Royal Facility in Kansas City, which hosted 216 Chianina juniors and 265 head of Chi and Chi-influenced cattle from 21 states.
